Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated, solution-oriented individual to join our maintenance team. This position will work cohesively with the Maintenance Manager to maintain the grounds and facilities per the standards and expectations set forth by senior management.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Assist the Maintenance Manager by covering reactive, preventative, and predictive maintenance tasks.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Upkeep of facilities: painting and repairing walls (interior &amp; exterior), fixing furniture, repairing cabinets, maintaining roadways and walkways, light plumbing and electrical repairs, assisting with larger projects led by the Maintenance Manager.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Groundskeeping of the property: lawn cutting, weed whacking, pruning, weeding, raking, watering, landscaping (summer), and snow removal (winter).</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Transportation and vehicle upkeep: transporting guests and employees, picking up supplies, removing trash and recycling, cleaning, refuelling, and assisting with upkeep of vehicles.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Cleaning: overall attention to site and exterior cabin cleanliness, maintaining hard-to-reach windows, removal of debris from gutters, removal of clutter and debris from around the property, and assisting with any other cleaning task as delegated.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Conducting daily water checks on the well system, hot-tub checks, and regular maintenance</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Ensure firewood and kindling are cut and stocked</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Perform weekly/monthly checks on kitchen equipment &#8211; heating/cooling</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Assisting with the management of the preventative maintenance schedule</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Perform monthly fire extinguisher inspections</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Assist the Maintenance Manager in emergency situations (septic, water, power-related)</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">May be required to assist at other lodges as needed during the winter season</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Assist the Maintenance Manager with large offseason construction projects</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Upkeep of recycling and garbage, dump runs as needed</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Drive to off-site areas to do supply runs as needed (primarily Williams Lake or Whistler).</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">This position requires good communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and time management skills, in addition to being able to carry out hard physical labor.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">This position will, on occasion, be required to work alone during the off-season.</li>

Qualifications

A Must
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">High school graduate or equivalent</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">2+years relevant experience</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, hot-tubs, and mechanical systems</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Be comfortable operating power tools and towing a trailer</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Have drywalling and painting experience</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Able to carry out hard physical labor</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Able to work extended periods away from home</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Class 5 Driver&#8217;s License</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Highly motivated with a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a solution-oriented mind</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Good administrative skills, able to navigate and develop manuals, maintenance schedules, and upkeep organized maintenance logs</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident</li>
</ul>
Preferred
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Landscaping experience</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Familiar with WCB regulations and the Canada Labour Code as they relate to workplace safety</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Class 4 Driver&#8217;s License</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Experience in the heli-skiing or remote lodge industry</li>
</ul>
