The Bella Coola Estuary, Hunlen Falls & Lonesome Lake each offer uniqe viewing experiences. The estuary in particular, situated where Bella Coola River's freshwater meets the salt water of Bentinck Arm, is home to Trumpeter Swans, Canada Geese, Mallards, American Wigeons, Barrow's Goldeneye, Bufflehead and Common Mergansers.
Other Wildlife
But the wildlife viewing doesn't stop with birds. Local species to watch for include black bears, mule deer, moose, mountain goats and american beavers. Ecologically sensitive animal populations found in the area include Mountain Sheep, Fisher, Wolverine, Bald Eagle and amphibian species. The adjacent lands are also an significant habitat for Vaux’s Wwift, Peregrine Falcon and Townsend’s Big-eared Bat.
