When not heliskiing, the guides can teach the kids (and you!) to fly-fish!
There's nothing cooler than family time heliskiing Canada at Bella Coola
If it's snowing heavily & you prefer not to ski, go fly-fishing with our guides!

"Cherry Pick" Only the Best Days to go Heliskiing!

"Cherry Pick" - from the Merriam-Webster dictionary: "intransitive verb: to select the best or most desirable". The Heli Sampler trips are all about choosing QUALITY over quantity. You choose if you want to go heli-skiing on a certain day! Only pay for the days you opt to go skiing!

Trip Highlights

  • Only ski the days you want to!
  • Only pay for skiing once you've had your turns!
  • This is a perfect introduction to lodge based heli-skiing
  • Enjoy a multi-sport winter getaway....cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, fly-fishing etc
  • Heli ski with your kids: without the pressure to ski every day
  • Available in January only

On any given heli-skiing trip, there is generally a couple of special days that stand out. When the magic combination of weather, snow quality and psyche come together, the result is often "that was the best day of my life!!!"

To score epic conditions, you need to be in the right place at the right time. With the Heli Sampler, you can increase the chances of scoring those special days! Stay with us at the Tweedsmuir Park Lodge for 5 or 7 nights. The only up front charges are for accommodation, meals and the return flights between Vancouver and Bella Coola. On arrival, you will find everything in place ready to go skiing: a heli on standby, guides dressed and raring to go, the skis waxed. When conditions align, off you go to skiing Nirvana.

When you are not skiing there are lots of other things to do at the lodge. Some of our favourites are: cross-country skiing, winter fly-fishing, paintball sessions, and hot tub Frisbee. There is WiFi throughout the property, as well as other activities such as a pool table, foosball, workout gym, yoga room, table tennis and an excellent relaxing ambiance. These activities are free of charge for guests on the Heli Sampler package.

The Heli Sampler program is perfect for anybody wanting to sample the best that heli-skiing has to offer. Groups of friends can book a winter holiday experience in beautiful Bella Coola with the added bonus of two, three or four days of heli skiing. It’s also ideal for families; parents wanting to share the ultimate experience with their children, without the worry that they (or you!) tire from skiing every single day.

Important Information;

  • The program is only available during select dates in January
  • It’s best to book this program as a group of four (or 8 or 12). This way you form your own group in the heli and you and your friends can decide when to ski!
  • If you are solo or a couple, we will do our best to match you with like-minded people
  • We need a minimum of three guests in the heli to be able to fly
  • If you decide to ski, we require that you ski at least 8,000 vertical feet, or pay the equivalent, in order to cover costs, regardless if you ski less than 8,000 vertical feet

Rates & Dates

The Heli Sampler program is only available in January. For a similar program in February, consider the Heli Lite program.

The upfront charge is C$4,280 for 7 Nights or $3,480 for 5 Nights. This includes double occupancy accommodation in private chalets, all meals and non-alcoholic drinks, guide service for ski and non-ski related activities, access to all amenities and lodge services, as well as the return Vancouver - Bella Coola flights on Pacific Coastal.

Skiing is billed separately based on how much you ski. The rate is $75 per 1,000 vertical feet. As an example, a good January day of heli skiing with 15,000 vertical feet would cost $1,050 (which is comparable to a daily, resort–based heliskiing operation, however that would cover about 8 runs, whereas a day with us could be 12-16 runs!). Of course, if the conditions are stellar all week then you can ski every day or at least as much as your budget allows!)

This is the same program that family and friends of Bella Coola Heli Sports have been enjoying for years. Don’t pay for skiing until after you have had your turns!
